Readers Theater is a type of active learning, which challenges students to use expressions, experiment with different voices, and utilize a range of emotions while reading from a script. In short, it helps build confidence in both the English language and reading.
This package uses a Readers Theater play to help develop reading fluency and gives you reading strategies that are proven to work. The play was written with a focus on used to, be used to, get used to grammar, so students get both reading and grammar practice together. It comes with:

This play involves 3 characters and it enables learners to expand their vocabulary, enhance grammar acquisition, and gain a deeper understanding of the English language. Set up takes about 10-50 minutes before getting into the script. Once rehearsed, the play lasts between 7-20 minutes, depending on staging.

Due to his high-intensity job, Nicolas has underlining health problems, though this is never stated directed in the play.
- Lisa Laleo: A rookie accountant who has just finished a six-month grueling internship and is ready for the real world of work. Tenacious, headstrong and driven, Lisa knows that she has talent but is also modest and humble enough to accept that she has a lot to learn and needs work experience.
- Charlotte Everett: Nicolas’ secretary who is fed up working for a miser like Nicolas and is secretly thinking about finding other employment.
- Scenario: Lisa has just finished a six-month grueling intern-ship and is ready to enter the high-stakes world of work. Or so she thinks. The play opens with Lisa sitting down to interview with Nicolas Ellison, a professional in the accounting world. Nicolas, though, is not a people person and has respect only for the job and the fires that forged his success. Lisa is nervous but hopes to get the job. Nicolas throws all he has at her and Lisa, knowing how to take a punch, gives him a run for his money.
